Two Wright State seniors, outside hitter Alisha Kimbro and middle blocker Tara Geegan, were named All-Horizon League as the conference released its all-league volleyball teams Thursday.
Kimbro (Lisle, IL/Lisle) came on strong for the Raiders during League play after struggling with a shoulder injury over the first three weeks of the season. She recorded 12 double-doubles on the season, all of those coming during in conference action, as she tallied 271 kills and 206 digs over the 16 League matches.
Selected as the Horizon League Offensive Player of the Week on October 8, Kimbro reached double figures in kills 17 times overall and posted at least seven kills in every match that she had more than two attack attempts. She recorded 20 or more kills six times, including a career-high 27 kills at Youngstown State on October 12 and matched that total at home against Loyola on November 2. Kimbro also had 18 double-figure dig matches, with her season high being 21 against Valparaiso on September 28.
In League play, Kimbro is ranked third in kills per game (4.30) and sixth in service aces per game (0.37).
Geegan (Algonquin, IL/Algonquin) put together a solid senior campaign as she reached double figures in kills 17 times, nine of those coming in League play, and hit .300 or better 11 times, six of those in conference.
Chosen to both the Sheraton Hilton Invitational and Raider Challenge All-Tournament Teams, Geegan hit .406 with 15 kills against Youngstown State on September 15 after tallying 17 kills versus Cleveland State the day before. She had eight blocks against Valparaiso on September 28 and matched that total along with 18 kills and a .455 hitting percentage at Butler on October 26.
Geegan was chosen as the Horizon League Offensive Player of the Week on November 5 after hitting .370 with 34 kills in three matches, including 14 kills with nine block assists versus Loyola on November 2 and hit .556 with 12 kills and six blocks against UIC on November 3.

Overall, Geegan is ranked fifth in the League in both hitting percentage (.280) and blocks per game (1.17) while in League matches only, she ranks fifth in blocks per game (1.29) and seventh in hitting percentage (.261).
Wright State (13-17 overall, 9-7 Horizon) opens Horizon League Tournament play Friday afternoon at 12:30 Eastern as the #3 seed Raiders take on #6 seed UIC at the Klotsche Center in Milwaukee. The tournament continues through Sunday, November 18, with an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament on the line.
