The Wright State volleyball team has been involved with the community this summer, working with Greene County Special Olympics in May and recently visited Children's Hospital.
On May 12, the team members assisted with the Area 2 Special Olympics Spring Games, which involved athletes from Greene, Clark, Champaign, Miami and Montgomery counties. Along with helping in officiating the volleyball competitions, the team ran with the volleyball team members who carried the torch in the opening ceremonies.
Earlier this month, the team stopped by the Dayton Children's Hospital and visited several patients.
The Raiders currently are in preparation for their season opener against Kentucky August 24 at the UNI Invitational in Cedar Falls, Iowa. The home opener will be against Eastern Michigan on Tuesday, September 4, at 7:00 in the C.J. McLin Gymnasium.
