Brigham Sprints On To NCAA Track and Field Regional



Brigham Becomes First Athlete to Compete at Division I Regional Track and Field Meet

DAYTON, Ohio - The Wright State track and field program will send its first student-athlete to the NCAA Division I Regional Meet in sophomore sprinter Tiffany Brigham. The Springfield, Ohio native earned her spot in the 100-meter dash after winning the Horizon League crown in that event.

Brigham will compete at the Mideast Regional Track and Field Championships on Friday, May 30 in the prelims starting at 4:50. The finals for the 100-meter dash will be held on Saturday, May 31 at the University of Arkansas starting at 6:05.

Brigham has been a solid performer all season for the Green and Gold, holding the top times in the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes. In the 100, Brigham posted a season best time of 12.08 at the Stan Lyons Invitational on April 26. Brigham posted the top-time in the 200-meter dash at the same meet, covering the distance in a time of 24.98.

Tiffany won the Raiders first sprint title at the Horizon League Championships on May 9, taking the crown in the 100. The sophomore captured the title with a winning time of 12.30 and was also the runner-up in the 200 with a time of 25.35.

She also holds both school records in the respective events, setting each during her rookie season with the squad. Brigham owns a career-best time of 12.02 in the 100 and a 24.61 mark in the 200.

The NCAA Division I Mideast Regional will be hosted at John McDonnell Field on the University of Arkansas campus. The meet starts on Friday, May 30 and concludes on Saturday, May 31.
