Sharon Palma is 71st in wins with 18

The Wright State softball team continues to have a strong showing in the latest NCAA Division I statistical rankings, through games of May 11.

Senior outfielder Jherica Williams (Piqua, OH/Piqua) appears in 12 categories, which includes leading the nation in runs batted in per game at 1.28 (73 in 57 games). She is second in batting average at .476 and slugging percentage at .929, sixth in on-base percentage at .572, 13th in home runs with 17 and in runs per game at 0.98 (56), 16th in home runs per game at 0.30, 28th in triples per game at 0.09, 33rd in triples with five, 59th in doubles per game at 0.28 (16), 65th in walks per game at 0.60 (34) and 79th in sacrifice flies with three.

Sophomore outfielder/pitcher Jamie Perkins (Convoy, OH/Crestview) is ranked in five categories as she is 13th in runs per game at 0.98 (56 in 57 games), 23rd in saves with four, 53rd in on-base percentage at .483, 75th in walks per game at 0.58 (33) and 79th in batting average at .385.

Sophomore shortstop Kristen Bradshaw (Portsmouth, OH/Northwest) appears in three categories as she is eighth in RBI per game at 1.09 (62 in 57 games), 28th in triples per game at 0.09 and 33rd in triples with five.

Sophomore pitcher Sharon Palma (Grand Rapids, MI/Northview) appears in the rankings for the first time as she is 71st in wins with 18, four of those coming last week as she was named as the Horizon League Tournament MVP. Freshman second baseman Justine Shilt (Greenville, OH/Greenville) is 40th in triples with four while sophomore designated player Allison Cox (Chillicothe, OH/Zane Trace) is 79th in sacrifice flies with three.
 

 

As a team, the Raiders are fifth in triples per game (0.37), 10th in batting average (.318) and slugging percentage (.515), 12th in scoring (5.93), 13th in home runs per game (1.14), 22nd in doubles per game (1.49), 71st in double plays per game (0.30) and 76th in winning percentage (.579).

Wright State takes a 33-24 mark into the NCAA Regionals, which begin on Friday, May 16, as the Raiders take on Michigan (48-6) at 7:00 at the Wilpon Softball Complex in Ann Arbor.
