The Wright State softball team will take on #6 Michigan to open NCAA Regional play on Friday, May 16, at 7:00 at the Wilpon Softball Complex in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Michigan (48-6) tied with Northwestern for the Big Ten regular season title, but the Wolverines were upset by Michigan State in the first round of the Big Ten tournament.
The other two teams in the regional, Notre Dame (37-20-1) and Kent State (44-10), will face each other at 4:30 on Friday, followed by the Wright State-Michigan game. The Raiders will face either one of those teams Saturday at a time to be determined by Friday's results.
Wright State (33-24) and Michigan have met before in NCAA play as the Wolverines knocked the Raiders out of the 2003 Regional in Ann Arbor, winning 13-0 in five innings.
Tickets for the regional tournament will go on sale through the Michigan Ticket Office on Tuesday (May 14) at 8:30 a.m. Admission for each day of the event is $8 for grandstand chairback seating, $6 for grandstand bleacher seats and $5 for outfield bleachers. All tickets must be picked up in person. Ticket will call on game days will be located near the Wilpon Complex scoreboard at the entrance gate near the Michigan Indoor Track Building.
