![]() Milovan Milosevic speaks to the students about his native Serbia |
May 5, 2008
On April 7th three players from the men's soccer team visited Ascension Catholic Elementary School in Kettering to take part in the Flat Stanley Project with Teri VanMeter's second grade class.
Milovan Milosevic and Uros Grujic, both from Belgrade, Serbia, and Carl Ebers for Malmo, Sweden spoke to the class about the similarities and differences between their countries and America, and showed the class their alphabets and spoke in their native languages. The project involves sending a paper doll named Stanley to family and friends and charting his journey on a map.
Mattaus Tracy, son of head coach Mike Tracy, is a student in the class and asked the players to come speak as part of his project, which included maps showing where each player was from. Both the students and the players thoroughly enjoyed the time they spent together.
