VALPARAISO, IN - The Wright State men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Valparaiso Invitational on Friday evening. The men's team posted a fourth place finish and the women's squad finished sixth out of eight competing teams.

In the men's race, freshman Isaiah Kessio paced the Green and Gold with a fifth place finish, covering the course in 20:13. Evan Firestone also posted a 20:13 time and placed sixth overall. The top-three Raider finishers on Friday were all freshman, as Anthony Scaparo placed 27th in a time of 21:27.

On the women's side, Natalie Hopwood covered the course in a time of 20:53 and placed 22nd overall. As on the men's side, youth prevailed for the women's squad as the top-three runners for WSU were all freshman. Alyssa Glenn finished 29th in a time of 21:17 and Kelsi Nutter posted a time of 21:35, good for a 34th place finish.

The Raiders will next compete at the Cedarville Invitational on September 15.
