DAYTON, OH - The Wright State swimming and diving program assisted the Dayton area Special Olympics at the WSU Natatorium on Friday, October 12. The Raiders acted as hosts for the annual Special Olympics Swim Meet and assisted with training sessions throughout the month.

WSU has worked with the Special Olympics of the Greater Dayton area for the past three weekends, offering training sessions to their counterparts. On Friday, October 12 the Green and Gold opened the doors to the WSU Natatorium for the Special Olympics Swim Meet.

At the meet, the WSU student-athletes offered in-pool assistance, acted as the official time keepers and provided support for the swimmers. Throughout the month, the swimmers offered training sessions to the Special Olympic participants.

"It's great to see out student-athletes get excited about working with the Special Olympics," head coach Sion Brinn said. "It is great for our program to be able to work with such an important and influential group people."

WSU is currently preparing for the upcoming season that starts with a Horizon League dual meet with Milwaukee on Friday, October 19. The Raiders and Panthers will start competition at 5:00 in the WSU Natatorium.
