Brett Hoffman is in his second year at Wright State and his second as the athletic trainer for the volleyball team. Along with his duties with the volleyball team, Hoffman also teaches courses in WSU's JRC-AT accredited athletic training education program.

Prior to coming to Wright State, Hoffman worked for four years at Charleston Southern University, where he coordinated clinical educational experiences for their athletic training program and also taught classes in athletic training and kinesiology. He also served as the acting program director during the 2005-06 year.

From 2000-02, Hoffman was a staff athletic trainer with Trident Hospital in Charleston, South Carolina, where his duties including working with the ECHL's South Carolina Stingrays. In 2001, the Stingrays won the Kelly Cup as they captured the league championship.

Hoffman has also served as the head trainer and head track and field coach at Lycoming (1990-93), the women's basketball strength and conditioning coach at Rio Grande (1993-94), head trainer and assistant athletic director at Charleston Southern (1994-98) and as an athletic training intern in football at South Carolina (1998-2000).

A 1988 graduate of Slippery Rock University with a bachelor's degree in Health Education/Athletic Training, Hoffman earned a master's degree in Physical Education/Athletic Training from Ohio University in 1994.
