In her 10th year at Wright State, Becky Bower is the Athletic Training Education Program (ATEP) Education Coordinator and also serves as athletic trainer for the swimming and diving teams. Her primary duties include teaching and advising athletic training students in WSU's CAATE-accredited program.
Before coming to Wright State, Bower taught health, physical education and sports medicine at nearby Walter E. Stebbins High School for four years. She also served as the Outreach Coordinator for the Miami Valley Hospital Sports Medicine Center and head athletic trainer at Archbishop Alter High School for eight years.
Bower received her bachelor's degree in Athletic Training (special major) from the College of Wooster in 1983 and earned a double master's in Athletic Training and Health Education from Illinois State University in 1986.
Honored as an Outstanding Young Educator by the Ohio Jaycees in 2000, Bower was also awarded the Athletic Trainer Service Award by the National Athletic Trainers' Association in 2001.
A native of Willard, Ohio, Bower currently resides in Centerville.
